1. Road trip in Amazon Rainforest

Located approximately 100 km (65 miles) north of Manaus, Presidente Figueiredo is a small town that lies above sandstone rocks of marine origin, which gave rise to the formation of dozens of waterfalls, rapids, caverns, grottos, etc. Along this 1h30 road trip, you will enjoy the scenery from your comfortable a/c vehicle. You might be surprise to see how much sand there is in the Amazon, 1,500 km from the Atlantic Ocean.

 2. Iracema Falls and Caves - Godess of the Waters

A 20-min hike will take us to caves and waterfalls where you can swim and experience natural showers in the cascades. You’ll visit caves and then we’ll hike back, finishing our loop through a picturesque trail where Toucans have been seen.

3. Lunch (included) at Urubui Municipal Park

Around noon, it will be time to appreciate local cuisine, namely a delicious Tucunare (peacook bass fish) or a tempting Churrasco (BBQ) at the URUBUI FALLS & MUNICIPAL PARK. This park is at the edge of the Urubui River’s white waters, at a walking distance from the little town of Presidente Figueiredo. During the week the park is very quiet, and a stroll or swim is always enjoyable while your lunch is being prepared. During weekends, the park attracts local tourists from Manaus.

4. Santuario (Sanctuary) Waterfall

This waterfall is outstandingly beautiful. The scenery is gorgeous and exceptional for photography from a rainforest ecosystem perspective. You will see three waterfalls, the highest being 15 meters (50 feet). Also, you will find a natural pool for a refreshing swim.

5. Maruaga Cavern Hike

At this protected site, you will hike for about 2 hours and reach a large (18 m x 480 m / 60 ft x 1575 ft) and very old (~ 400 million years) cave, which was initially under sea. During the hike and cave visit a local guide will provide explanations about the flora and fauna and will kindly answer any questions you may have. He will lead us inside the Cavern, as we walk in ankle-high crystal clear water, you’ll be able to touch the beautiful sandstone white walls of the cavern. We’ll then continue our hike outside the cavern through luxuriant rainforest. You’ll walk in a stream (no piranhas J), where the water level may get up to your knees, for some 10 minutes, an enchanting environment.

Other Options:

6. Pássaros (Birds) falls - Instead of activity 3 (lunch at Urubui…)

Around noon, it will be time to appreciate the local cuisine at the PÁSSAROS (bird) Waterfall, where the specialty are BBQ meats or locally-caught fresh fish on the grill, simple, but just awesomeJ. While you wait for your grilled meat/fish, you can have a relaxing swim in the various natural pools among the rocks and little waterfalls. Or, you may wish to climb a large tree and go down a 100 meters (300 feet) zip line that runs through gorgeous rainforest and over small waterfalls and natural pools. A great sensation guaranteed! Lunch and the zip line are included in the tour fare (no additional cost) J

7. Onça(Panther) Falls - Can be squeezed in the day

The 20-min. hike is carried out through a preservation park with beautifully maintained trails: trees with identification tags, orchids introduced all over from their “orchids’ hospital” and great natural rainforest. At the end of the trail, there’s a small but lovely waterfall with erosion marks of a panther J.
